LEGEND book response.

The "Legend" series by Marie Lu is a series of three novel who's characters archetypes in the book frequently but non-consistently change all the time. Some of the characters i'm talking about but (not limited to) are June, Metias, Thomas, Day, Tess and the Republics Elector. Generally the overall "heroes" in this book are "Day" and "June". These two characters are much more than "heroes" they have levels of emotional complexion to them for example "Day" seems like in the beginning of the book a worthless criminal but the reader soon finds out he has reasons for everything he does, however this is one example of many characters and instances.

I think June and Day are the obvious heroes of this story because, first of all they have good morals and they come together to undermine the Antagonist in the first book which is"The Republic". One way to prove that June and Day are the heroes is that when push come to shove they believe in the right things and most of the time make the right decision. A part from the book that proves this is the line saying "My thoughts wander around and then focus in on what June whispered to me. you wont be able to do it alone. you'll need my help. She must have discovered something - who really killed her brother,or some other truth about the Republic." This line shows that although June came from the Republic and was lied to for 18 years about what it really is she had a good heart so she did what was right.

I think Metias is June's mother figure because he raised her himself and taught her everything she knew about morals and the rights and wrongs of life. One way to show that Metias is Junes mother figure is from the book where Lu wrote "I stopped to look at my brother directly in the eyes ."Metias, did Mom take care of me like this when i was sick? Did she do things like this?" Metias reached over to push sweaty strands of hair away from my face. "Dont be stupid Junebug. of course Mom took care of you. And she was much better at it than i am." "No you take care of me the best", ..." This shows how much of a mother figure Metias is to June. The book makes the comparison itself.

In conclusion the "LEGEND" is a good read which i highly reccomend.
