My book club experience was fairly good. I became closer with my classmates and extended my knowledge even furtheron how to successfully work on a group project, and lastly the book "The Giver" taught me many things. One of the things that "The Giver" taught me was to enjoy life for what it is and for what it has to offer. The reason why it taught me this was because the community that Jonas lived in was so bland and boring, that it made me enjoy what I had a little bit more. The other lesson that this book taught me was to take events from the past and use them positively and wisely to learn so I never make those same mistakes again. The reason why I learned this from the book is that the Elders (leaders of the community) took events from the past and used them to make the wrong decision and go with plain-ness. A positive experience that I had in my book club was connecting with my fellow members and debating on certain topics and ultimately expressing our personal thoughts and ideas and applying them to the text.
Some challenges and Conflicts that my book club faced was not complete clarity on everything we were doing and un expected absences and bad scheduling. I think that the book club i was in could have improved by spending more time planning what we were doing and also spending more time practicing and doing our presentation and synthesis page.
My future plan for a book club is to read the divergent series and spend a large amount of time working on it. I wouldn't mind keeping my original book club, although we were partially unorganized I had a good time working with them and thought that we did some good work.
